Change your email address

You can change the email address tied to your Acme account. To protect your account, the new address must be verified before the change takes effect — your current address keeps working until then.

Your email address is managed under Settings → Security, in the Email Address section (not under Account).

  1. Sign in to Acme.
  2. Go to Settings → Security.
  3. Find the Email Address section, which shows your current email.
  1. In the Email Address section, select Change Email.
  2. Enter your New Email Address.
  3. Select Send Verification.

A verification email is sent to the new address.

  1. Open the inbox for the new email address.
  2. Find the verification message from Acme and select the confirmation link.

Once the link is confirmed, the new address becomes your account email and you’ll use it to sign in from then on.

After you request a change, the Email Address section shows a Verification Pending state with the address you’re switching to. From there you can:

  • Resend Email — send the verification link again. There’s a short cooldown between sends; the button shows a countdown until you can resend.
  • Cancel Change — cancel the pending change and keep your current email address.
  • Didn’t get the email? Check your spam or junk folder, confirm you typed the new address correctly, then use Resend Email. See also Verification email not received.
  • “This email address is already in use.” Another account already uses that address. Choose a different one.
  • Disposable address rejected. Temporary or disposable email addresses aren’t accepted — use a permanent address.
