Delete your account

You can permanently delete your account and the organization you own. This is a serious, irreversible action, so Acme asks you to confirm it carefully and gives you a grace period to change your mind.

Deletion is handled under Settings → Organization, in the Danger Zone section.

  1. Sign in to Acme.
  2. Go to Settings → Organization.
  3. Scroll to the Danger Zone and select Delete Organization.

If your organization has an active paid subscription, you must cancel it first. The Danger Zone will tell you to do this and link you to your billing settings.

  1. Go to Settings → Billing and cancel your subscription. See Cancel your subscription.
  2. Return to Settings → Organization and start the deletion again.

Deletion uses a type-to-confirm dialog so it can’t happen by accident:

  1. Select Delete Organization in the Danger Zone.
  2. Read the consequences shown in the dialog, then select Continue.
  3. In the confirmation field, type the exact phrase shown in the dialog (for example, SCHEDULE_FOR_DELETION).
  4. Enter your password.
  5. Select Schedule Deletion.

You’ll be signed out, and your organization is scheduled for permanent deletion.

When you schedule deletion:

  • Your organization is scheduled for permanent deletion, with a 30-day grace period before anything is removed for good.
  • You’re signed out and your active sessions are ended.
  • All workspaces you own are slated for deletion.
  • All your personal data and settings are slated for removal.
  • Any active subscriptions are cancelled.

The deletion isn’t immediate. During the 30-day grace period, you can cancel it simply by logging back in to Acme — signing in within those 30 days stops the deletion and restores your access.

If you’re unsure whether to delete your account, or something doesn’t work as described, contact support before the grace period ends.
