Signing in

Acme gives you a few ways to sign in. You always start by entering your email address; from there you can use your password, request a one-time login link, or — if it’s enabled — continue with a social provider. This guide explains each option and when to use it.

  1. Go to https://your-app.com and open the sign-in screen.
  2. Enter your Email Address.
  3. Select Continue.

You’ll then see the password step, where you can also switch to a login link.

After you continue from the email step:

  1. Enter your Password.
  2. Select Login.

If two-factor authentication is enabled on your account, you’ll be asked for your authentication code next. See Set up two-factor authentication and, if you’ve lost your device, recovery codes.

Forgot your password? Select the Forgot password? link on the password step. See Reset a forgotten password.

Prefer not to type your password? You can have Acme email you a one-time login link instead.

  1. From the password step, select Send a login link instead.
  2. We email a one-time link to your address, and the screen confirms it was sent.
  3. Open the email and select the link to sign in. The link works once.

There’s a short cooldown before you can request another link, shown as a countdown on the resend button. If two-factor authentication is enabled, you’ll be prompted for your code after following the link.

If social login is enabled, you’ll see provider buttons under an Or continue with divider on the email step.

  1. Select your provider.
  2. Authorize Acme with that provider.
  3. You’re returned to Acme and signed in.
