Signing in
Acme gives you a few ways to sign in. You always start by entering your email address; from there you can use your password, request a one-time login link, or — if it’s enabled — continue with a social provider. This guide explains each option and when to use it.
Start with your email
Section titled “Start with your email”- Go to https://your-app.com and open the sign-in screen.
- Enter your Email Address.
- Select Continue.
You’ll then see the password step, where you can also switch to a login link.
Sign in with your password
Section titled “Sign in with your password”After you continue from the email step:
- Enter your Password.
- Select Login.
If two-factor authentication is enabled on your account, you’ll be asked for your authentication code next. See Set up two-factor authentication and, if you’ve lost your device, recovery codes.
Forgot your password? Select the Forgot password? link on the password step. See Reset a forgotten password.
Sign in with a login link (magic link)
Section titled “Sign in with a login link (magic link)”Prefer not to type your password? You can have Acme email you a one-time login link instead.
- From the password step, select Send a login link instead.
- We email a one-time link to your address, and the screen confirms it was sent.
- Open the email and select the link to sign in. The link works once.
There’s a short cooldown before you can request another link, shown as a countdown on the resend button. If two-factor authentication is enabled, you’ll be prompted for your code after following the link.
Continue with a social provider
Section titled “Continue with a social provider”If social login is enabled, you’ll see provider buttons under an Or continue with divider on the email step.
- Select your provider.
- Authorize Acme with that provider.
- You’re returned to Acme and signed in.
